The Oswego Elks
held their annual Public Safety Awards on Saturday February
19th, 2011. New York State President Michael Bloss of Clifton Park Lodge
#
2455 attended the Ceremony. State President Bloss assisted in the
presentation of the awards to the Honorees and honored Elena Oldenburg
of
Mexico who was chosen as Teen of the Month for the Month of November.

the
Oswego County Sheriff's Department, Charles Fortier from Mexico Volunteer
Fire Department , Officer Thomas R. Rupert from the Oswego Police Department
and Thomas Miller Deputy Chief from the Oswego City Fire Department
and
Officer Kelly M. Thompson from the University Police at the State University
College at Oswego and Exalted Ruler Michael Loughrey of the Oswego Elks
Lodge.

Pictured
are Exalted Ruler Michael Loughrey of the Oswego Elks Lodge # 271 and
Zack Murphy. Zack was stationed with the 1st Armored Division in Baghdad,
Iraq. While stationed in Iraq Zack sent his parents Tom and Annette Murphy
the flag that flew over his building in Iraq.
His parents are members of the Oswego Elks and donated the flag to Lodge
to be shown proudly in their Memorial Room. There was a small reception
following with the Lodge Officers and friends and family of Zach Murphy.
Zach is stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii with the Commander of the Pacific
Fleet. |

The Oswego Elks sponsored a night of Bingo at the Lodge. The gentlemen enjoyed
playing Bingo and talking with the members from the Lodge. The Lodge paid
for there Bingo cards. |
